This exhibit, featuring the evocative works of Devin Lawrence Reynolds and Weston Lambert, offers a captivating exploration of contrasting yet complementary perspectives on time, nature, and human experience. Running from October 31 through December 1, 2024, this exhibition invites you into a meditative space where the eternal and the ephemeral, the fragile and the unyielding, converge.
Devin Lawrence Reynolds’ work emerges from a deep well of philosophical inquiry and artistic tradition. His pieces weave together influences from Stoicism, Eastern philosophies, and his rigorous classical training in Florence, Italy. At the heart of Devin’s art is a search for the extraordinary within the ordinary—capturing the nuanced beauty of overlooked objects and moments. Whether it's the subtle dimples of an orange or a discarded toy, his work illuminates the light that emerges from darkness, revealing a powerful narrative of love, struggle, and redemption. Each piece engages the viewer in a dialogue, asking them to reflect on their own experiences and perceptions, much like the human condition itself—a conversation without end. Devin’s inclusion in the Lunar Codex speaks to the timelessness and universal relevance of his art, cementing his legacy both on Earth and beyond.
In contrast, Weston Lambert’s creations delve into the materiality of time itself, accelerating geological processes within the confines of the studio. His work is a study in dualities: the transparency of glass juxtaposed against the opacity of stone, the fleeting nature of existence anchored in the permanence of geological forces. Lambert manipulates molten glass and stone to simulate millennia of natural erosion, compressing eons into moments. This balance between fragility and strength becomes a metaphor for the human condition—constantly shifting, breaking, and mending. His sculptures capture a dynamic tension, where transparency becomes an asset and rigidity a liability. Through his seamless objects, Lambert invites viewers to contemplate the delicate equilibrium between change and permanence.
Together, Reynolds and Lambert explore the universal themes of transformation and resilience—whether through the emotional landscapes of the human heart or the enduring processes of nature. Their works stand as a testament to the beauty found in opposites: light and dark, fragility and strength, and the fleeting moments that shape eternity.
This exhibition is an invitation to witness the extraordinary, to ponder the delicate balance of existence, and to explore the endless conversations between form, time, and meaning.
