We are thrilled to present the works of Arden Charles, a talented artist who graduated from the University of Washington with a degree in commercial art and has studied with legendary Northwest artists such as Guy Anderson, Alden Mason, and George Tsutakawa. Charles began her career as a set designer and photo stylist for a commercial photography studio, but returned to painting in 1995.
Her work is narrative and ranges from watercolor to assemblage employing found objects. Charles’ pieces are included in the Swedish Hospital Foundation collections, and she has also had work exhibited in the Whatcom Museum and the Frye Art Museum. As a member of Women Painters of Washington since 1997, Charles has made significant contributions to the art world.
With her work, Charles hopes to create a journey and an experience that inspires investigation by the viewer to become a part of it. Her use of found objects in her assemblages adds a unique layer of meaning to her work, creating a sense of nostalgia and history.
We invite you to experience the works of Arden Charles and embark on a journey that is both personal and universal. Her art is a testament to her talent and her ability to create works that speak to the viewer on many levels. Come and discover her unique perspective at our gallery.
