Pieter VanZanden

Posted by Doug Paradis on

Pieter is an emerging artist that has exhibited at Smith & Vallee since the beginning of his art-making career in 2014. His past work references his experience growing up on Whidbey Island in the Puget Sound fishing, hiking, biking, and making driftwood forts and rafts. Due to technology, pollution, over population, and government control, his work reflects back to his youth and his changed environment in adulthood. His 20’s & 30’s were about traveling, living in the mountains, snowboarding and working as a carpenter. His progressive construction skills help him to create art out of any media.
