'Blades of Change'
The art of nature inspires all my work. Copper, one of the primary natural elements, has long been my
preferred medium of expression. Each hand formed shape is meant to evoke the beauty of the natural
world around us.
This piece is inspired by a nurse log in the forest, a dead tree that regenerates new life and beauty as it
decomposes and returns to the earth. The turbine blade represents technology as a nurse log. The
intertwining leaves represent the hope that we can use inspiration and lessons from nature to guide
technology away from harm and towards the regeneration of new life and beauty.
