Smith & Vallee's annual Bird Invitational, Art of Migration, is a celebration of movement, connection, and the enduring beauty of avian life. Birds have long been symbols of freedom, resilience, and passage—traveling vast distances, crossing borders, and linking ecosystems. In this exhibit, we invite artists to explore the profound story of migration, both literal and metaphorical.
Through diverse mediums and perspectives, Art of Migration reflects the delicate balance between nature and human experience. The featured works honor birds as messengers, travelers, and integral parts of our shared environment, while also calling attention to the challenges they face in a changing world.
This invitational serves as both a tribute to the wonder of flight and a reminder of our interconnectedness with these remarkable creatures. As they soar across skies and seasons, they inspire us to reflect on our own journeys—of movement, adaptation, and belonging.
