This Gumoil printing process begins with my black and white image cast onto a sheet of transparent vellum. This is then placed on light sensitized paper hand coated with potassium dichromate and arabic gum. These are then exposed to UV light. Afterwards, the result is placed in a tray of water which removes the chemical coating from all unexposed areas of the image. Black oil pigment is hand rubbed over the entire surface, wiped down and rewashed to remove excess. Pigment penetrates the clear areas, but not the coated sections.
Only my hand-made, mono print remains.
